Abenójar as a municipality adhering to the Regional Social Action Program (PRAS) established by the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla La Mancha, offers a range of Social Services of Primary Care in the Rural Environment, which are not only based on home help and service of provision to the dependency.
The Ministry of Social Welfare provided Abenójar with a worker and a social educator, who in our municipality has face-to-face attention on Wednesdays from 9am to 2pm on the ground floor of the City of Abenójar (request for an appointment at 📞 926.83.50.01).
Thus, the City Council of Abenójar complies with sustainable development Goal No. 3 established by the WHO "Health and Well-being", and in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real and the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla la Mancha implements several projects in our rural area to offer advice on socio-sanitary aid, collaborates in the detection of cases in the field of gender violence and social exclusion, as well as personal assistance. In our elders, the most representative population in the locality, projects are carried out to combat loneliness and abandonment, and active aging.
In addition, with different lines of aid provided by the competent provincial agencies, in 2021 the co-payment food delivery service for elderly people who needed it was launched, upon request to the local social worker.
In the same way, the City Council of Abenójar immersed in the fight against depopulation, implements several projects for the benefit of young people and rural women, which not only allow them to access the same basic services as young people and women from other territorial areas, but also opt for the same social and labor opportunities.
That is why, from the City Council, the elementary training of these two population groups of rural areas is promoted, since offering basic education and certificates of professionalism in the approved training classroom of Abenójar, which allow to provide tools to both young people and women, will facilitate their labor integration. In 2021, through the Women's Institute of Castilla la Mancha, the "Co-responsible Plan" was launched in Abenójar, which is a new public policy on Gender Equality, which aims to start the path towards the guarantee of care as a right from the beginning of equality between women and men (to generate a redistribution of tasks and care times).

More specifically, this service is offered as support to the "Children's Workshops" of the town for children between 1 and 3 years old (in the Municipal Playroom, in the mornings from 10am to 1pm), and in Sports and Multisport Schools for children of school age from 6 years and older (schedules to be consulted at the Popular University).
In conclusion, the City Council of Abenójar acts in the field of personalization, integrality and coordination: applied experiences of care or intervention that favor personal autonomy, functional independence, well-being and participation of people who need support.
